Steph Stilwell, smiling and wearing a colorful floral jumpsuit, holding up a peace sign, with drawings around her at a lively outdoor book festival.

Steph Stilwell is a New York Times bestselling creator and master of puns based in Brooklyn, NY.

She loves humor, saturated color palettes, hand-lettering, and is most often drawing food. Steph received her BFA in illustration from MICA and has since been working in-house as a designer and art director in publishing for nearly a decade. She now writes and illustrates her own books, creates illustrations for the surface design industry, and loves collaborating with businesses of all sizes. Steph’s favorite projects are full of whimsy, humor, anthropomorphized characters, and puns.

When she isn’t working you will likely find her doodling in a coffee shop, meandering through an art museum, rearranging her apartment, or strolling through Prospect Park.

Steph is currently accepting new freelance projects and clients—feel free to send along a proposal via email, or a note just to say hi!
